Bite and envenomation by the slender coral snake (Calliophis melanurus sinhaleyus) is rare in Sri Lanka. This case report describes an authenticated slender coral snake envenomation that occurred in a 32-year-old male. The bite to the middle phalanx of the left index finger was allowed to persist for 10 minutes. The victim developed pain, swelling and paresthesia without signs of systemic neurotoxicity.We report here a case of human envenoming by Thamnodynastes hypoconia, a common and abundant non-front-fanged snake belonging to the subf
