Why You Should Install a Hook Lock Hook locks stop thieves from stealing your van's contents by securing it to the vehicle door. They also reduce the likelihood of work-site accidents caused by malfunctioning spring latches on standard sling hooks that fail to snap shut when not under load. This paper uses numerical continuation and bifurcation theories to study the motion properties of the mechanism for hook locks.
