Although gastric physiology is complex, recent progress has been encouraging, with the heterogenous pathophysiology of gastric symptoms continuing to be unraveled, and new techniques for evaluating gastric function and symptoms emerging. Ongoing progress will now depend on continuing to accurately profile the underlying mechanisms of gastroduodenal disorders to identify specif
