The book model is applied through steered and unbiased MD simulations towards the recently resolved whole framework of KvAP. The simulations reveal that the resting condition involves a re-orientation of this S5 α-helix by ∼ 5-6 degrees in respect towards the normal associated with the bilayer, that could lead to the constriction and closure of the selectivity filter. Our findings offer the proven fact that the breakage of S4 under (hyper)polarization is a broad feature of Kv stations
