Oku (1981) assigned his brand-new genus into the tribe Olethreu-tini, but mentioned it resembled the genus Gatesclarkeana Diakonoff, 1966. In her own extensive study of Australian Olethreutinae, Horak (2006) briefly noted Ukamenia as being referable to Gateclark-eanini.A new geometrid species, Archedontia agnesae sp. letter. is described from Tadjikistan.
