Family Court Orders Psychiatric Assessments Mental evaluations are typically triggered by the behaviour of moms and dads or in cases where abuse is thought. If there is extreme conflict in between parents or a kid is being 'alienated', the evaluator will recommend family therapy and/or parenting courses. You can ask for the Court to designate a certified Psychologist or be enabled to organise one yourself.
