Here, we made stable isotope measurements of nitrogen and carbon in sediment, liquid column particulates, major producers, and customers at 35 stations when you look at the apparently eutrophic Barnegat Bay (nj-new jersey) to assess N sources and handling pathways. Combined with water high quality and hydrological data, our C and N isoscapes revealed four distinct geographic areas with diverging isotopic baselines, suggesting variable nutrient sources and processing paths.
