Our town may have to resort to a grassroots movement in order to get in step with the rest of the world. Most major businesses in Taos will default to the plastic bag, but if you ask for paper they will happily oblige. We all have to wake up and do something to reverse planetary pollution, and time is running out. I read in the Taos News, with some dismay, that the town counselors could not bring themselves to ban plastic bags here because "Taos isn't ready."
