The aim of the present article was to analyze the phytochemical composition of EtOAc extract of Cirsium italicum (Savi) DC. and to determine the antioxidant activity of a new compound 1. The EtOAc extract of C. italicum was purified by different chromatographic methods. Compound 1 was isolated from the whole plant of C. italicum.
