We herein report a case of application of sugar to the edematous stoma for obstructive rectal cancer. A 70-year-old male patient was diagnosed with rectal cancer, bowel obstruction and multiple lung metastases. Colostomy was performed. Seven days after operation, severe edema and congestion of stoma continued. We started spraying of sugar to stoma, and a few days later, edema and congestion of stoma improved.
