A previously developed and industrially feasible process for selective, Pd-mediated, liquid-phase heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation of nitriles to primary amines was extended to the reduction of 3-phenylpropionitrile (PPN) to 3-phenylpropylamine (PPA).
