Progesterone receptor (PgR) inhibits cell proliferation in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PanNEN). In non-neoplastic pancreas, loss of PgR induces β-cell proliferation and insulin production. However, detailed association between PgR and insulin producing PanNENs is poorly understood.
