In A549/Taxol cells, mitochondrial mass showed a significant decrease, while the mitochondrial biogenesis pathway was strongly activated. Despite the decreased mitochondrial membrane potential, the capability for mitochondrial respiration was not impaired in A549/Taxol cells.
